Korean Manufacturer Relocating to Troup County

By Mike Rieman | July 16, 2010

More growth is coming to the Greater Valley Area. Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue announced yesterday that Seoul, Korea-based Hanil E-Hwa, makers of door trim, seats, lining and shelf covering will move into a 180,000 square foot facility in LaGrange, Ga sometime in October. The company is expected to invest close to $8.5 million over the next three years, which in turn should create around 173 jobs.

According to Gov. Perdue, 3,000 jobs have been created in and around the Greater Valley Area due to Kia. Greater Valley Group has also done its part to create jobs in the region and provide necessary homes near Kia. In a study performed by Dr. Judson Edwards, principal of Edwards Economics, LLC and Director of the Center for International Business and Economic Development and Associate Professor of Economics at Troy University, earlier this year estimated that GVG will create more than 14,000 jobs by 2018.

Using a combination of primary and secondary data sources applying standard and advanced economic modeling methods, the results demonstrated an economic and fiscal impact of approximately $1.5 billion in total output over the life of GVG’s projects due primarily to the extraordinary amount of construction activity.

Interested in LaGrange Ga  real estate? Those relocating to work at Hanil E-Hwa, Kia or other suppliers might want to consider taking a look at GVG’s new home communities of Riverside Estates, a golf course community and Quail Run a masterplanned community, both located in Chambers County. Not interested in purchasing home just yet, but are relocating? You might want to look at GVG’s Apartments at the Venue in Valley, Ala.

The new home communities and apartment complexes are just miles from the Kia plant and many of its suppliers. With an attractive tax structure in place and quality schools in Chambers County, many have decided to call Quail Run and Riverside Estates home.  For more information about these homes or apartments near Kia, visit their website or call 706-645-7777.
