Regional Information

The Greater Valley Area consists of four primary communities: the cities of Valley, Lanett and LaFayette in Chambers County, Alabama and West Point, Georgia, which straddles Troup and Harris counties
The Greater Valley Area is on the I-85 corridor between two capital cities: Montgomery, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia; the area is served by CSX rail
Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia started commercial vehicle production on November 16, 2009 with over 1,200 employees.
Over 35 Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers have located within a 50 mile radius of the plant; nearly half are either on-site or have chosen locations within 10 miles of the plant.
The natural recreational amenities of the area include:
- West Point Lake (boating, fishing, tournaments, hiking, camping, etc.)
- The Chattahoochee River (kayaking, water sports of all kinds)
The Valley Community Center and Sportplex is a fitness and recreation center serving the entire region and includes: a 64,000 gallon indoor Olympic swimming pool, basketball courts, an indoor walking track, racquetball courts, a weight room, meeting rooms, a football stadium, baseball / softball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts, and an outdoor community amphitheater.
