“Kids Day” at Crest Club a Success

Crest Club, one of the three Greater Valley Group Apartments located at the Apartments at the Venue held a special “Kids Day” at its complex in late June. Children residing in this Valley, Alabama apartment community enjoyed a sunny afternoon potting new flowers for the apartment’s front office, while sharing laughs with Crest Club staff members over cookies and juice.

Hampton Inn Staff Praised

In a recent Letter to the Editor in the Valley Times News, Hampton Inn & Suites employees Patti Jones, Christine Jourden and Melinda Edwards were praised from guests of the hotel for going above and beyond the call of duty.
When a couple from North Carolina, who were in town for their grandson’s graduation at Auburn University, found a flat tire prior to leaving for the graduation they were rendered helpless and had to call family members to pick them up at the hotel so they wouldn’t be late for the graduation ceremonies.
Little did they know that while they were away, Jones, Jourden and Edwards had made numerous phone calls to see if someone could replace the tire. When the couple arrived back at the hotel, they found that King Chevrolet had come to the hotel parking lot to take care of the tire at no cost. When the couple learned that Edwards had left a tip for the individual who fixed the tire, they offered to pay her back. Edwards would not hear of it and simply asked the couple to pay it forward. The couple was overwhelmed with the kindness and thoughtfulness of the Hampton Inn & Suites staff and good folks at King Chevrolet. Congratulations to Patti, Christine and Melinda for a job well done!

GVG Supports Valley Area Swim Team

Greater Valley Group is one of several corporate sponsors supporting the City of Valley and the Valley Area Swim Team (VAST) as they prepare to host the 2010 Alabama State Championship Swim Meet from July 29 – 31 at the Valley Community Center aquatic center.
Chamber of Commerce and City of Valley leaders bid on the event last summer with a successful presentation emphasizing the exceptional existing facilities, including planned enhancements that would make this pool the ideal location for the annual state-wide meet.
New touch-pad timers have been installed and a new scoreboard is in place. The decks around the pool have been refinished and bleachers were purchased to provide seating for the substantial pool-side audience of coaches, team members, parents and siblings. Read More→

Celebrate Easter with the City of Valley’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Round up the children and make your way to the ball fields at the Sportsplex by noon on Saturday, April 3, 2010 for one of the Greater Valley Area’s most popular annual events, the Easter Egg Hunt. The Greater Valley Area Sportsplex is located at 130 Sportsplex Drive, Valley, AL. The Easter Egg Hunt is for children of all ages, and to make it fair for all participants, the egg hunts will be divided by age group. The plastic eggs will be filled with different types of candy, but, if you are lucky, you may also find a few prize eggs hidden within the rest.
