A proposed $72 million business park in Columbus, Ga., is projected to bring more than 1,000 civilian jobs close to the Greater Valley Area within five years. The park will be home to a variety of defense related businesses and contractors supporting the new Maneuver Center of Excellence. This investment is further proof that the extended area around Ft. Benning and Kia in Georgia will continue to expand and see increased demand on development.
The 1.4 million square foot office park is the result of growth at the 184,000 acre military base undergoing a $3.5 billion expansion. The expansion is part of the U.S. Army’s Base Realignment and Closure Initiative.
The military expansion, which includes moving the Armor School from Fort Knox in Kentucky to Fort Benning, could create up to 11,000 jobs among active-duty soldiers, Department of Defense civilians and contractors.
Many of those that are moving or being transferred will be looking for homes for sale in West Point Georgia or the Greater Valley Area. If this sounds like you, you might want to consider the master planned neighborhood of Quail Read More→
